Jim Parsons of 'The Big Bang Theory' As a Muppet, Broadway Actor, Texas Home Boy

Jim Parsons was born in Houston, Texas and still has family ties to the Smiley and Nixon United Churches. He also is a busy actor doing Broadway roles and being a muppet for the new movie of the same name.

What would be more exciting than the fans of Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory” claim him as their own? How many people can boast that Jim Parsons is a home town boy? It appears the good people of Smiley United Methodist Church in Smiley, Texas can do just that. So can the good people of The Nixon First United Methodist Church. The Family of Jim Parson were in Nixon to visit with friends and they will be attending the churches Dec 11 services.

Here is another case of art imitating real life. In the TV Show Jim Parsons plays Sheldon Cooper, a brilliant young physicist from East Texas, with a religious mother. In reality Jim was born in Houston, Texas and clearly has some religious ties.

Another actor, Mayim Bialik who plays Amy Farrah Fowler in the ‘Big Bang Theory” is a neurobiologist on the show and in real life as well.

The fans of the TV series are thankful that both these fine actors have chosen to make their careers in in acting.Especially Bayim It would be unimaginable to think of “The Big Bang Theory” without either one of them.

In real life, there is no doubt the people of these Texas communities would love to see Jim Parsons in person, but the two-time-Emmy-winner just does not have the time. When Parson is not filming for his show, he is off on Broadway.

Jim played the part of Tommy Boadwright, the aids activities in “Normal Heart” the Broadway production of the aids epidemic in the 1980. The off Broadway version of the play will be held in Washington, D.C. this coming June to July. There will be national tour to follow.

Jim will also play the part of Elwood P. Dowd, the role made famous by the great James Stuart in the play, “Harvey.” Harvey is an invisible pooka a six foot rabbit-like mythical animal that only Elwood P. Dowd can see. The revival of “Harvey” opens on Broadway on June 14, 2012.

Fans of Jim Parsons waited long and hard to see what Jim Parsons would be doing in the “Muppets” movie. Now that the movie is out, the fans have finally learned Jim plays the human version of a Muppet called Walter. Though it is a cameo appearance many people are going to see the Muppets just to get a chance to see Jim Parson once again.

Imagine if the good people of Smiley and Nixon, Texas could get a change to see Jim Parson live as well.
